So here I am...sitting here and thinking of a fun post to write...hehe here it goes. Recently gone viral, the Dad Bod is described as "human, natural, and attractive," according to Clemson University sophomore Mackenzie Pearson and "nice balance between a beer gut and working out," according to Pearson. It is a body that about 30% of American men have and apparently you don't even need to be a dad to have it. There is even a term called the college dad bod or on Instagram, #collegedadbod. I am not here to judge what body type you posses or want to have but all I can say is I prefer and suggest the rock bod. I think some of my colleagues may agree as well.

The Rock Bod is what it sounds like: a chiseled physique carved out of the mountains and cliffs we climb on. It is usually achieved purely through climbing, cardio, along with a shit load of pushups and core workouts. Why do I love this physique? Well it's simple: it looks great and isn't that hard to work towards given some time and effort. Lets go over some benefits.

1. The Rock Bod is functionally sound: yoga, gymnastics, mma, ninja warrior, crossfit, you name

it. You would have a good advantage transitioning or combining any of these with climbing.

2. Physique: Almost everyone I know that has climbed for good while has trimmed down, ripped up and became emotionally happier. This translates into a body of Adonis....or at least, well on your way (Athena for you awesome rock wielding females I know)

3. Sex: The energy climbing creates takes us back to our primal days when all they were was ripped. Take a balanced diet, add to that what our bodies did to get around and you get this energy that is ready and primed. Because you learn so many positions, gain flexibility, let your inner primal rage out and looking sexy as ever, sex is awesome....really...Slopers, Jugs, pockets, pinches....all sounds so provocative doesn't it? ;-)

4. The feels: You will get a couple or all of the following: Lean overall body (Look at #2), Huge Biceps, toned chest, rock hard abs, sculpted back, striated legs. You will prob get compliments and people touching your biceps, pecs or rub your back. At the beach, onlookers will wonder where you got your 6 pack...tell them bottle king.

So if you want it, It's not really too hard to get. Just climb 2-3 days a week to get started, do a couple body weight exercises through out the day and drink lots of water. If you kill yourself during a climbing session, fuck it, go out and enjoy a beer with some buddies and a burger. Trust me, I do it all the time (in moderation...). Best of all, you don't count reps when you climb...you just do it until you get the climb or you physically can't hold on anymore. If you genuinely enjoy climbing and keep up with it, it's just focusing on the climbing at that point and you see gains...gains everywhere. Go try climbing. Push the hard stuff, have fun and get stacked.
