I wanted to put a post on here that wasn't exactly climbing related, but something anyone could read without really having to read between the lines for those non-climbers out there. Lately, I've encountered many people along my life's journey who are in transition of careers, pursuing a person of interest or starting an activity / hobby they have always dreamed of. That is a beautiful thing! There comes a point in your life when you want to change and do something different. It may not necessarily be in the form of a career but maybe a makeover. Maybe you are passionate about bettering yourself. I like to believe when a person starts thinking this way, that they have stepped out of their comfort zone and into the right direction of following what it really is they are passionate about. We are Generation Y: or what I like to call, Why not.

Ask yourself that from time to time: Why not? I mean, why not do something...anything. We only
have one life to live. Don't you want it to be full of excitement, adventure and love? Sometimes, being scared Sh*tless is a great drive towards passion. So let me give an example so you can all brave up and do the same.
Every time I send a job application out, I get scared. It's only natural to feel a little restless at the thought of getting rejected. After countless rejections, I realized that maybe this was a sign, being unemployed and having all this free time to think. It took a while to deal with rejection but I didn't really care after a while. As a matter of fact, I welcomed it as it just fortified my idea of going at it and making a name / career for myself. So sitting in my chair completely vulnerable, I decided to start this blog.

I decided to start styling people by tailoring, cutting hair or personally accompany someone to revamp their wardrobe. Training people to look and feel their best was my new priority in life. Of course, this isn't my career (yet) as I need to build clients but i'll tell you what: I am the happiest I have ever been. Like myself, this new journey is a work in progress. I can never know the outcome of how this is all going to be but, I'm here taking risks and taking shots. It's awesome and I encourage any of you reading to do the same.
Some things you are passionate about may not even involve a career change but a hobby that you just want to perfect or get into. I also love cooking. I love every aspect of how a smell could bring back a memory. I love how taste can be so sensual. Most importantly, I love how the culinary world can bring people together, whether that be in a restaurant or the comfort of your home. Different cuisines have different cultures and to be able to share that with people is an amazing thing.

Like anything you love, following passion ignites a feeling in your heart that you can't describe. You know you are passionate about something when you think about it every day. A lot of the time, it is the first thing you think of when you wake up and the last thing you think of before you sleep. Or alternatively, if you can't sleep because you think about it so much, thats passion too (or stress but we will deal with a post about that later ). Passion grows within. Don't be afraid to grow with it. I like to think about passion like a relationship: sometimes it becomes redundant, sometimes you lose touch with it, or sometimes...just maybe...you grow with it. It is a commitment and with all commitments comes sacrifice and understanding. Believe in the abilities you have because you definitely are worth it. Hopefully you can sense that I am passionate about you and helping you realize what your passion is. It doesn't matter if it makes money or not, what matters is how you get there and how it makes you happy.
